It went down today 2.27.14.  All Inclusive on the beach- Maracas Bay from 2- 8pm There was also live entertainment!! Sounds like a dream The downside was the price $125 US ($750 TT) BUT it was probably well worth it! It's the countdown to "The Greatest Show on Earth" aka Trinidad Carnival set for March 3rd & 4th This past Monday was Machel Monday feat. one of the biggest Soca Artist from Trinidad - Machel Montano. Here are some quick simple styles I came up with. These can be done on any style of extensions (mini braids, chunky twist, jumbo braids etc) one canerow/cornrow on each side connected at the back with a rubber-band (or anything you wish) loose basket-weave on the top held together with hair clips one big canerow/cornrow starting from top of head to other side-secure end with rubber-band same style as above, take end of braid and flip it to the other side- secure with hair clip or bobby pin for this top knot/ ninja bun I gathered the hair to the top of my head, spin it around itself forming a bun and secured with a woogie/ pony tail holder Necklace| H&M  Lippie| NK 'black orchid' lipstick & NK 'Precious' lipgloss Hope you were Inspired :) Blessings J

Finally saw Kevin Hart's movie 'About last Night'. When is this dude NOT in a movie? I mean, homeboy is extra busy lol I support everything Kevin Hart. His career shows that hard work really pays off. I feel close to his journey because I met him when he was not as famous. He still seems humble and true to himself. Well another protective style is in place.  I did mini twists on my natural hair and I thought it looked horrid, so without missing a breath I ran through to the snow to the hair store and got me 4 packs of kenekelon braiding hair.  Nine hours later I was done. I'm so happy I don't have to pay $120 to get my hair did! I didn't use much hair out of fear of running short. Also I wanted a thin, light look, nothing too heavy. Video Update It has bin 2 weeks since I installed the braids. My scalp is doing very well meaning, little itching and flaking. I have not washed my hair since, but debating if I should do so next week. I mist my scalp with water and I apply oil about every 5 days. At 1 weeks in I noticed my natural hair fuzzing a bit but its all good, I'm hoping to keep this look for another 3 weeks... at best, 4. Blessings J

I want to introduce more reviews about places I visit, movies I've seen etc. Let me know if you would like to see more of this on my Blog. The beginning My friends and I had reservations for 10pm. We got there about 9.45-9.50 and were surprisingly seated two minutes later. TIP Arrive as close to your reserved time as possible. There is no waiting area Inside Mangoseed is a small establishment. Cozy, dimly lit with a mellow vibe. (On the website it looks like there is an outside area, which would be very good in the Spring and summer) TIP Great for a date night Dinner The waiter was friendly and our drinks and food came at a good pace (not quick nor slow) I ordered a traditional Jamaican dish- rice and peas, jerk chicken with plantains. It was delicious. No complaints about the mac and cheese, wings, meat balls or fish tacos that my friends ordered. My drink was splendid. I had a sorrel mojito. We were asked by our Priest to wear African or Caribbean inspired wear to Church this past Sunday to celebrate the start of Black History month This is what I wore  Hair| bantu   Shawl| Dejaneiro     Top|? This style was a long time coming. I put it off because I knew it would take up a lot of time and would be quite tedious to accomplish, especially on short hair. Well my cousin offered to help. Four hands are better than two (in this case) so we went for it. State of Hair - dry, stretched and sectioned Products Used - small straws (cut in halves and thirds) -coconut oil (for scalp) - As I Am twist define cream -gel -comb -bob pins Time - about 2.5 hrs Set Time - from about 6pm-1.30pm (next day) Next day Results 2nd day Results Thoughts I had a lot of flake-age the next day. The straws and clips were extremely uncomfortable to sleep with, BUT I will try this style again in a couple months using different  products and probably bigger straws ;) Blessings J
