LOBOR DAY (Brooklyn) 2012



The weather was pretty nice on Monday. The sun gave us a break and the rain held up till the parade was over.

I actually injoyed myself this year on the Parkway!!

RIP to everyone (yes there was more than one) who lost their lives. Also speedy recovery to those who were injured. I wish we can all come together with out the voilence :(

    Love...love....love your Labor Day outfit! Really surprised I couldn't spot you in the crowd. I also wish there were a little less violence during the festivities... It makes you a bit nervous to go out to parties where you are not familiar with people because you have to be on the look out for drama. Glad you had a nice time :)

Excited about this post because i'm really pleased at how creative I can be...sometimes The look for this week is the shorts suit or "shorts separates"  as Ebony (pictured) put it. Basically a pair of cute shorts, with a top/blouse and a sleek blazer. Big Chopped!

So yes I big chopped! I have about 1-2 inched of hair on my head right now and I gotta tell you, I'm loving it! LOL It was sort of a spur of the moment decision. I mean, I was thinking about it for a while (since I took out the crochet braids) but never thought I would do it. Then one night, in the middle of Prison Break I just went for it. Just. Like. That. That was November 1st. Well, since then I've bin doing twist outs with my usual products (blue magic leave in, almond oil), but I just purchased a new twist out product from the 'As I Am' brand. I heard good things about the line and can't wait to try it! It's all about healthy hair for me now. I'm not stressing it. No color (hopefully, cause I'm thinking of  blue black *sigh*) and definitely no heat. I want my hair to grow out healthy and strong; looking, feeling and being. If that makes sense.  I would be trying out different things like rod sets (if possible), straw sets, wash and go ...
